In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Dempsey is general manager of The Columns, a banquet and conference center.

Rep. Dempsey is a member of the following organizations: St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, St. Peter's Chamber of Commerce, St. Charles Rotary, St. Charles Crimestoppers, St. Charles D.A.R.E. board member, Catholic Business Professional Organization and St. Charles Borromeo.

A 1985 graduate of DeSmet Jesuit High School, Rep. Dempsey received a bachelor of science in political science from Rockhurst University in 1989.

Born May 8, 1967 in St. Charles, Rep. Dempsey resides there with his wife, Mollyanne, and their children: Meaghan, Abby and Jack.
