I'd be down either way

The plan was to have a preliminary round where people nominate who should be on the ballot. If a candidate does not get multiple nominations, they are struck from the ballot. The first round of voting then gives people the chance to vote for 6-8 candidates (final number TBD), with a number of candidates advancing to the final round where ranked-choice voting will be used to determine the winner.

Oh okay I missed that. Let's stick with the earlier plan.

This one was tough to narrow down to seven votes. What a great year for crappiness it has been.

And a great year for nutjobbery. So many wacky things said by people who couldn't even make it out of the preliminary round, but it's all relative.

How do we cast votes? Sorry, my first time doing this sort of thing

I posted a poll earlier today. If you can see it, check the box next to your top seven and hit "Vote".

Off topic question, but how does one create a new race on here? There is a special election near where I am that will be coming in a few months and I wanted to make a page with hypothetical/openly considering candidates.

I:6738IndyGeorgia ( 3906.04 points)December 27, 2020 10:11am
Are you referring to an actual (non-silly) race? Go to the appropriate page and hit "Add" on the race section.

Which race is it? I could walk you through making the race and you could add the potential candidates.

N:10422CaliforniaModerate ( 388.73 points)December 27, 2020 11:31am
Thanks! Yeah it’s for a real race actually. California’s 79th assembly district will be holding a special election in the coming months to fill a vacancy from a high profile appointment .

I:6738IndyGeorgia ( 3906.04 points)December 27, 2020 12:14pm
Got it. Go to the CA-79 page ( [Link] ) and add the race with speculative dates. Include a "Dates TBD" note.

If you need help, let me know.

Thank you so much!! I used this and created a special election page and I am adding potential candidates based on local articles. Much appreciated.

You're welcome! If you want to keep track of your sources, you can add them to the edit page. I placed your tweet with respect to Ms. Weber under her profile so you could easily manage the different news stories that mention people.

Kristi Noem is going to walk into a re-election landslide next year (in 2022, that is) and will likely be a serious contender for the GOP Veep spot in 2024 (if Trump if the GOP nominee in 2024, I predict he will select her as his Veep). It's a little weird that she's even under consideration in this category.

Hold for results in this race; because the final round of voting was Trump 6, Bloomberg 4, and Cunningham 4, no one received a majority. Since Bloomberg and Cunningham tied, we look back to the previous round to see who received the most votes. That, therefore, excludes Cunningham from the final round. I'll redistribute Cunningham's votes now.

And Bloomberg takes it - 8 votes to 6.

Why is Bloomberg so disliked? I don't understand

I:6738IndyGeorgia ( 3906.04 points)May 11, 2021 11:48am
-Crappy Politician of the Year: nominate any politician or politicians (US or international) that you think has/have had a particularly awful year. It's not the politician that you dislike most, but someone who did something particularly poorly either electorally or politically.

I believe the amount of money he poured into his presidential campaign to come away with winning only one contest in the presidential primaries, in addition to the amount of money he poured into the ultimately unsuccessful Florida presidential race for Biden, is what motivated voters.

A tiny non-state contest at that.
