I interned through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, so it was a little easier. There are plenty of groups that do sponsor interns, but being a summer intern is pretty competitive and you probably don't get as much out of it. If you really want to intern in DC, I'd say be open to interning in a district office and impressing people there so they make the case for you to go to DC.

Thanks man, and I didn't know you could direct message on here. I'm mostly just trying to work on a presidential campaign right now and I don't want to to keep bugging who I've been in touch with, but I don't want to go a long time without me getting in touch with them again.

When was the last time you reached out to the campaign folk?
If there are any debate watches this week that you can get to, then I'd say make sure you get to those and see if anyone there is at least a volunteer coordinator. Campaigns, even local ones, are rough to get into and you sometimes have to prove a willingness to just show up and do the little things before anyone takes note.

Last time I reached out was yesterday, and and not too long ago, they sent me their email to send my resume and I did. When I reached out yesterday, they read my message and didn't reply and before that, they apologized for the delay and of course because I know they're busy in the campaign. I'm sadly working during the debates and no one in the area has any debate watches. They said the Florida team hasn't been fully established so hopefully when they do that, I'll be contacted again.
