Impressive that Peltola went from 10% on June 11 to ~38% here (or whatever it ends up at).

right now, Peltola would need for Palin to win less than 70% of the Begich vote (with people who didn't rank Palin effectively helping Peltola)
the 16 precincts not reporting right now are in house districts 36 (2), 37 (3), 38 (4), 39 (3) and 40 (4) which are all in the Alaskan "Bush". So Peltola's initial lead will increase a little bit once those precincts are in

if my math is right, Palin has to finish 27% ahead of Peltola with the 29.54% of voters who didn't rank either of them first

Seems like more and more people - even conservatives - are saying its possible that Peltola might come out on top here.

If Dems win this, it would have to be the most land represented by House Democrats since the 70's.

If Peltola wins it probably has more to do with Palin than it does with Dobbs, although the latter will probably play a factor.
Also it will be interesting to see if there is any analysis of the native/indigenous vote in the transfers and in overall turn-out. I suspect Begich might be seen as a more acceptable choice than Palin for this important Demographic. In the choice between Peltola and Palin it may have been enough in the minds of native voters that Peltola was one of their own in the transfers from Begich.
If Peltola wins she will be the first native to represent Alaska in Congress.

If Peltola wins, the Rs will claim it was stolen by ranked choice voting and it shouldn't be used. Mark my words.

Will we receive breakdowns by assembly district for both the first round and after redistributions?

would figure if the complaint after Poliquin led after round 1 and lost to Golden on RCV was less successful than a complaint if Palin didn't lead after round 1 and then lost on RCV
The August primary results show that there could be some interesting results after RCV
Senate: Murkowski 45, Tshibaka 38.6, Democrats 8.85, Other Republicans 5
House (full term): Peltola 36.8, Palin 30.2, Begich 26.2, most of the rest is Sweeney's 3.75%
Governor: Dunleavy 40.4, Gara 23.1, Walker 22.8, Other Republicans 11.9

The Division of Elections plans to announce the special election results at 4pm today: [Link]
They will apparently announce the results of votes that came in up to today and will amend the returns later this week to reflect votes arriving today. The DofE believes that the number of ballots arriving today will be small and won't change the determination of the winner.

Just for clarification, 4pm in Juneau is 8pm Eastern.
The DofE plans to release a table showing the distribution of the write-ins among the top three and another column showing the distribution of Begich's votes between Peltola and Palin.

So is this just for the remainder of this term, and then there is a re-vote in November and we repeat this process for a full two year term?

I've already seen someone say RCV is "cheating".

Peltola went from 4th place in June to winning here (with a lot of thanks to Al Gross for dropping out)

Apparently there are still things in life that can surprise me. Who knew.

So, can Peltola win in November?

If she goes up against Palin in the final round.

feels like the 1st place candidate might have an advantage in a situation where the 2nd and 3rd place candidates are going at each other and a few thousand exhausted ballots could tip the election

Wow they certified these results with missing results from seven precincts worth about 300 votes

I talked to Alaska elections, they dont count write-in results unless it reaches a certain threshold that none of the write-in candidates reached.
