The polls look fairly ominous for the Liberal Party, and it just keeps getting worse, with 5 months to go. This one is an aggregate from the CBC: [Link]

It projects the following seating arrangements
CON 124-207
LIB 71-183
NDP 10-52

Concurrently, Trudeau's popularity has 'nosedived' [Link] and continues to slide: [Link] The New York Times writes today what sounds like his postmortem: [Link]

Still, not so sure Andrew Scheer will be running with the bulls to 24 Sussex Drive in October. Do Canadians really have a huge hankering in their hearts for a PM Scheer?

The CBC average of polls project a Conservative rise to 156 seats from the current 95 [Link]

It'll be nothing short of miraculous if the Tories pick up enough to reach majority. Should this (Betelgeuse-size) objective come about, however, it'll be historic - evidence of a superbolt level of Liberal Party-loathing and Trudeauphobia.

I'll eat a shoe if this happens.

Yes, if the PCs get a majority they should thank Trudeau. Conversely, if the Liberals maintain their majority or even get a minority government they should thank Doug Ford and Andrew Scheer.

A nail-biter looming on the 21st.

Assuming a dramatic Liberal loss (a collapse to 129-130 [Link] and [Link] ) and Conservative gain (a rise to 133 in some estimates [Link] and [Link] ) render them both about equal in seat numbers in the Commons, how do these two top seat takers manage to reach that magic 170 and majority?

Will the Bloc join up with the Blue team? Will Singh join up with the Red? Or will Canada slog through yet another super-shaky minority government?

Martin gracefully bowed out in '04 - and Harper crawled in on a mere 124 seats. What am I hinting?

That Trudeau will be as graceful as Netanyahu in bowing out after his party loses its governing majority?

Gee I wonder whats coming soon? [Link] It would appear that Liberals are alreay preparing to dump Trudeau after he loses his majority next week.
