Great news for advocates of this initiative-The Utah medical association and LDS Church came out against the initiative and the UMA spent a lot of money trying to get people to withdraw their signatures. Not only did it get on the ballot and had only about 1,000 people remove their signatures, the new poll shows that active LDS members support the initiative 59-38.

The initiative will pass, but it’s absolutely terrible. I support medical marijuana, but this is not it: it allows people to grow their own marijuana if they are 100+ miles away from a dispensary, allies anyone with a marijuana card to buy pot anytime and anywhere, and is for all intents and purposes legalizing recreational marijuana.

It is a total shame that Ron Paul supporting, pro drug organizations have used the faces of hurting people to advance their pro drugs/anti regulation agenda.

I support medical marijuana. But this initiative falls far short of providing a stable, doctor centered system.
