Smith has withdrawn his candidacy for the Libertarian, Green, and Working Families nominations. The rationale is that if he had lost any of those nominations (most likely the Libertarian), the sore loser law could have been invoked to thrown him off the ballot entirely. [Link]

yeah, I wasn't sure if the Green/LP listings for Smith on the SC site was real or an error by the state

one of the closer races of the night and didn't get much attention beforehand.
the counties around Charleston swung Dem without going to Smith, so that'd be something to watch in the near future.
