Surprising that QC is at the bottom and AB is at the top. QC perceived to be the most progressive province on most issues and AB thought to be the most conservative. But I guess you can rack up the QC results to the historical Catholicism in the province maybe?

I mean ketchup has a lot of sugar and tomatoes are technically a fruit. But this is still gross if true.

You can get ketchup with no added sugar.

RP: You can get ketchup with no added sugar.

Okay sure. But sugarless ketchup popsicles are probably even worse. Do these sound good to you?

Nope.

Canadian delegation in London; see how many you can name! 8 of 9 for me.

Joker:9757BrentinCO ( 9685.29 points)September 18, 2022 04:02pm
I can name 6 of 9. +2 I recognize but can't remember their names (both GGs). And I'm stumped by the man on the left unless that's a really old former PM John Turner who has lost hair and I guess decided not to get dressed up for the picture.

I:6738IndyGeorgia ( 4881.18 points)September 18, 2022 04:13pm
And the fact that John Turner is deceased, haha! Guy on the far left is former Governor General Edward Schreyer (had to look him up myself).

I'm going to leave this link here
[Link]

Pretty amazing link of all past Canadian elections, by-elections, and the candidates in each riding (1867 - present) curated by the Parliament in database format.

You can link over to the ridings and it will list the elections for that riding. And true to form for Canada being data transparent, you have the option to download the data in XLSX by choosing which columns of data you want.

Incredible. I just love Canada. They make it so easy for data nerds. This will probably fill in some of the gaps we have.

As an FYI it will be a busy October (before our National election) for Canada's provinces. 3 provinces are expected to go to their fixed election dates within 10 days of each other. (BC = 10/19, NB = 10/21, and SK = 10/28)

I've added the events for each.

In Case you're editing the districts

The Candidate Deadline is April 7th.

Thanks! I'm working West to East on closing out the outgoing parliament, adding new maps, and any leftover 2025 date changes. Thanks for your work on dates and candidates!

LIB:6149Campari_007 ( 1939.65 points)March 23, 2025 04:38pm
oh you're doing west to east? Should I start on the west or east changing the 2025 election dates?

I:6738IndyGeorgia ( 4881.18 points)March 23, 2025 06:45pm
Whichever direction you wish. I think I completed BC and Saskatchewan with maps and dates; I will double-check Alberta before starting Manitoba. I will inevitably slow down when I hit Ontario and Quebec.

Thanks for your work!

Good news we've got the correct election date set for every riding in canada I think. The only hard part is waiting for Elections Canada to declare close of nominations because we've had so many switches

I appreciate y'all updating the dates on the races. That's exactly the sort of thing that feels extremely tedious to me and sets off my procrastination impulse.

LIB:6149Campari_007 ( 1939.65 points)April 13, 2025 02:25pm
Not that I'm gonna get it but there's a handful of districts that I would love polling on. Abbotsford-South Langley I'd love a poll on because I have a theory Mike de Jong is going to take a chunk of vote from the Tory candidate and allow Kevin Gillies to sneak up the middle and win in a vote split.

Hey am I able to change the 338 predictions? I know it's day of election but I'd like fix the projections.

Would someone with better knowledge about the Canadian races give a quick overview of the races? It seems to me that thus far a chunk of the NDP voters are going with the Liberals to ensure the defeat of the Conservatives - but maybe that's just the few races that I have clicked on. Are any races surprises thus far? Any trends of note?

D:1RP ( 5639.51 points)April 28, 2025 07:58pm
There really aren't a lot of NDP voters in Atlantic Canada, which is all the votes that are in so far.

LAP:352Ralphie ( 17851.74 points)April 28, 2025 08:35pm
Conservatives appear to be doing somewhat better than expectations in the Atlantic provinces. I'm expecting more regional than national trends so I wouldn't read much of anything into that, though.
