Is Minnesota ever going to post official results from the 2016 election?

they posted results that are in their Legislative Manual. [Link]

Got it, saw we had a lot of MN races to certify.

Huh. I didn't notice the SoS site still says Unofficial for 2016.

Their 2017 results don't say Unofficial. I wonder if it's an oversight?

IndyGeorgia: Got it, saw we had a lot of MN races to certify.

Well, that's probably because I'm entering a lot. I thought I was marking them certified.

I have all the Cities, Townships, School Boards and their maps in for MN, so if anyone wants to help data entry for all the races... Long term goal is to have all County, City, Township (if they have them) and School Board contests in for all US states.

Hey, not complaining! Trying to help with the To-Do items.

the filing fallout from Tuesday

AG Swanson jumped into the Governor's race

Hilstrom and Ellison jumped in to the AG race. Leading to a 3 candidate primary in HD40B and a 6 candidate race in CD5

Ilhan Omar jumped into the CD5 race, leading to a 7 candidate race in HD60B.

Quade being Murphy's runningmate led to a 5 candidate race in HD57A.

So, a lot of the primary excitement for statewide, congressional and legislative races really came together this week

40 years ago in 1978 Minnesota had a gubernatorial election and two senate elections that ended with a Republican sweep. Looking like it may be a reverse sweep Tuesday night.

Precinct data in for all 2018 General Election state races, US Senate, US House, and state legislature.

2016 and 2018 General Election data in for all county-level races.

Minnesota election results have been online for awhile (right here: [Link] )

But the University of Minnesota just opened up an election archives page that might be a little easier about getting results without going through PDFs (not to mention the years where they don't have statewide totals in the PDFs).

The archive is here: [Link]

Another state trying to climb the flag rankings:

I promise I'm not the one who submitted the California state flag or the one where the format of the CA flag is copied but instead it says "MINNESOTA REPUBLIC" and the bear is replaced by a giant mosquito.

The bears on the CA state flag no longer exist in California.

RP: The bears on the CA state flag no longer exist in California.

It's still one of the best state flags, with bonus points for being created by a bunch of random dudes who declared California an independent country until the U.S. took down their flag a month later.

MN Supreme Court will not be removing Trump from the 2024 ballot.

Primary ballot. They left the question open to possibly removing him from the general election ballot.

Rejecting from general election and not primary election is very stupid ruling, hypothetically. An "insurrectionist" can run in a primary election and not general election is a very stupid precedent. It should be rejection from both elections or no rejection from both elections.

I agree. I, personally, don't think this should happen without a previous legal ruling of fact on the charge. I was just clarifying the ruling that happened.

It's also a common practice for judges to rule as narrowly as possible for a particular case.

I know. I was shocked to hear that he will most likely be tried for general election ballot.

congrats to all the candidates already on our site due to their nonpartisan races who were upgraded (downgraded?) to having partisan affiliations because they're running for the MN State House this year

also the process of 134 races is sped up a little by all the districts without primaries, especially if it's a rematch from 2022.
