Description | The fundraising prowess of Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown) continues to expand as he seeks re-election to a second term in the politically competitive 3rd district.
The freshman congressman has now raised $5,011,075 since taking office in January 2019, including $509,241 since July 1, the New Jersey Globe has learned.
Kim faces Republican David Richter, a former construction company executive who had largely self-financed his primary campaign.
Richter reported loaning $681,787 to his campaign through June 30 and had $122,942 cash-on-hand. He reported raising a total of $807,564, according to his Federal Election Commission filing
Kim had reported cash-on-hand of $3,508,792 as of June 30 without accepting any corporate PAC money.
The 3rd district had been held by Republicans since the Civil War, except for a two-year period in the 1880s and when the late John Adler (D-Cherry Hill) occupied the seat from 2009 to 2011. |
