Description | The Georgia House adopted a redrawn Congressional district map on Thursday and immediately transmitted it to the Senate for action.
U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Marietta, hailed the move, saying “it should be clear to a fifth-grade geography class” that its clean lines are superior to the gerrymandered districts set when Democrats held the majority.
“It is the kind of map that should have been drawn in 2001,” the former state senator said. “I was part of the General Assembly then, and I suffered through those sessions. Republicans had no voice.”
