DescriptionIn 1992, Oregon voters passed lifetime term limits of twelve years total (with no more than 6 in the House or 8 in the Senate). These term limits took effect for the first time in 1998. In 2002, the Oregon Supreme Court ruled the amendment which enacted term limits to be unconstitutional (single-subject rule)
