Rep. Donald Prost, a Democrat, represents all of Pemiscot County, and parts of Dunklin and New Madrid counties (District 162) in the Missouri House of Representatives. Elected to his second consecutive two-year term in 1994, Rep Prost serves as chairman of the Joint Committee of Legislative Research and vice chairman of the Motor Vehicle and Traffic Regulation Committee. He also is a member of the following House committees: Agriculture; Appropriations--Natural and Economic Resources; Banks and Financial Institutions; and Tourism, Recreational and Cultural Affairs. Previously, Rep. Prost was the Vice Chairman of the Agriculture Committee.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep Prost is a retail merchant. He is also a member of the Rotary Club and his local Church of Christ.
A 1970 graduate of Caruthersville High School, Rep Prost graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1974 with a bachelor of science in Secondary Education- Social Studies. He taught high school history and government for three years in Hayti, MO.
Born February 26, 1952, in Hayti, MO, Rep. Prost is married to the former Kathy Lux. They have three children, Charles, Beth Ann and Andrew.
