| Info | CPT McCallum’s military career began when he enlisted on active duty after graduating from high school at the age of seventeen. His enlisted assignments include duty as a small arms repairer in the 215th FSB, 1st Cavalry Division. During his time in 215th he was deployed and participated in Operation Desert Strike in the Fall of 1996.
In 1998, after completing his three year tour on active duty, CPT McCallum left active service with the goal of pursuing a college education. He attended college full time and earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Taxation. While attending Clemson University, CPT McCallum enrolled in ROTC and recieved his commision as a Second Lietenant in the South Carolina National Guard in July of 2003.
CPT McCallum served two years in the 742nd Maintenance Company as the Platoon leader of the base maintenance platoon. His next assignment was as a platoon leader in the 122nd Eng Co (CSE). During his time with the 122nd CPT McCallum was activated for Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as the platoon leader of a counter IED platoon responsible for route clearance in and around the cities of Tikrit, Bayji and Samara. CPT McCallum was next assigned as the Battalion Maintenance Officer of the 351st AVN SPT BN and is now the Commander of A Co. 351st AVN SPT BN, Hartsville, SC and Cheraw, SC.
CPT McCallum’s military education includes Basic Combat Training, Small Arms and Artillery Repairer Course, ROTC Advanced Leadership Camp, Ordnance Officer Basic Course and the Pre- Command Course.
CPT McCallum's military awards include the South Carolina Active State Service Medal, Palmetto Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device, Overseas Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Action Badge and Bronze Star Medal.
CPT McCallum is married to his wonderful wife Deborah they have two children a three year old son Jefferson and a one month old daugher Jennifer.
