Info | Greg Zoeller serves as the chief deputy to Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter and also as chief of the litigation division and of advisory services, a position he has held since 2001. In this capacity he directs the overall administration of legal services of the office and serves as the delegated representative of the office in carrying out its statutory authority. As the managing attorney for the office of 140 lawyers he directs all litigation areas and work performed by outside counsel. As chief deputy he serves as the senior advisor to the Attorney General to all agency heads and departmental counsel represented by the office and as liaison to the National Association of Attorneys General for Carter who had served as president of the association.
Mr. Zoeller has also served as the president and director of the World Trade Center of Indiana, a post that he assumed in 1999 when he initiated the development of a strategic plan at the Hudson Institute. He negotiated a contractual relationships with the Indiana Manufacturer's Association and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce to provide benefits to their respective membership. As the president of the World Trade Center, Mr. Zoeller managed the business services provided through the World Trade Center Association in New York City and was the chief contact with 316 member World Trade Centers in nearly 100 countries worldwide.
An attorney licensed to practice in Indiana and Washington DC, Mr. Zoeller is certified as a mediator and had previously maintained a private practice representing corporate and business clients as outside counsel in strategic corporate planning, project and business development and international law.
Before returning to Indiana in his private career, Mr. Zoeller served as the Assistant to Vice President Dan Quayle in the White House from 1989-1991. He had previously served then-Senator Quayle in both Washington and Indiana in legislative and executive capacities since 1982. In these governmental positions Mr. Zoeller provided legislative and political counsel and managed five statewide offices. He served as Special Assistant to the U.S. Attorney General, Richard Thornburg in 1988 and as Senior Counsel to the House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform and Oversight in 1998.
Mr. Zoeller was awarded a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Robert D. Orr in 1988 for his work for Senator Quayle representing the State of Indiana. He was selected to serve on the U.S. delegation to NATO in Brussels, Belgium as the Vice President of the Indiana Council of World Affairs in 1992 and led Airlift Indiana, a private relief mission, to Bangladesh and another relief mission to Honduras following natural disasters in those countries.
Mr. Zoeller has served as an adjunct faculty teaching at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis in the political science department and has been a delegate to the Republican National Convention and worked on numerous state and national political campaigns including the successful Bush-Quayle campaign in 1988.
A native of New Albany, Indiana, Mr. Zoeller graduated from Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington in 1982. He is married to Kerrie (Turner) and has three children, Gretchen (16), Katherine (10) and Michael (8) and they are members of Christ the King Catholic Church.
