InfoStratton Rollins "Rollie" Heath, Jr.

The Heath name is one of the best known and widely respected in Colorado’s 18th District. Rollie and his wife, Josie Heath, have lived in Boulder since 1970. They have raised their family here. Their daughter, Kristin, lives in Longmont. Their older son, Stratton, works in New York City and Joel lives on the Western Slope. All are married, and have given Rollie and Josie five grandchildren, with another on the way. Together with his family, Rollie has set the standard for community, business and political involvement. The backdrop of Rollie’s hearth in his Boulder home is as iconic as the Flatirons to aspiring and established candidates. His support is highly sought after, and his endorsement list for his own candidacy is a roll call of current and former elected officials. The relationships Rollie and his family have forged around the state and the countless volunteer hours they have logged have earned them not only recognition but great personal satisfaction.

Rollie loves the outdoors, and is an avid skier, hiker, golfer and gardener. As a spectator, he can be found cheering on his Buffs and his Rocks.

In 2002 Heath was the Democratic candidate for governor. He served as Chair of the State Party Platform Committee in 2004. Rollie was the founding Chair of the Rocky Mountain Progressive Network, now Progress Now. He was also the founding Chair of the Democratic Business Coalition. He served on the advisory board of the University of Wisconsin Business School as well as the University of Colorado at Denver's Business School. He was a member of the board and chaired the University of Colorado's Student Leadership Institute. In 2000 he received the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce's Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in marketing Denver International Airport and for his work for Denver's inner city schools. Heath began his career as an officer in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He served as chairman of the Mile High United Way 2006 Annual Campaign. Heath was a founder of Denver's World Trade Center and has served on numerous boards and commissions in the Denver area, including the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado's Association of Commerce and Industry, the Public Education & Business Coalition, and the Colorado Forum.

He is a recognized civic and business leader in Colorado and a founding partner of NorthStone Group. Rollie works primarily with boards of directors, CEOs and executive teams as not only coach and advisor but also more broadly on leadership development and decision making. Heath facilitates high stakes meetings and strategic work sessions. In addition, he teaches "Humanizing the Negotiating Process" through the firm's partnership with the Leeds School of Business. He has served as president of the International Corporation and Building Materials Corporation for a Fortune 500 firm, managing approximately $1 billion in annual revenue. He later became a co-founder, chairman and CEO of Ponderosa Industries, a precision metal parts manufacturing company.
