Is there a way we could organize Yugoslavia like we organized the USSR and its breakaway countries? I'm not as familiar with the "Created From/Split/Merged To" functions.

Yes, you do that by picking up containers and then dropping them on other containers with the "Created From" or "Split/Merged To" functions. It should be fairly obvious once you pick up a container.
