While I do think the general sentiment on his administration has now turned from "too critical" to "too positive" I do wonder if we'll ever again see someone who was just as devoted (if not moreso) to public service after their political career was over.

I remember when Obama's grandmother died before election day 2008, her early vote was still counted in Hawaii.

Yes, as long as early voting has opened, I believe it counts everywhere. I'm sure legislation to prevent that will appear soon, but it would be a nightmare to try and administer.
