Hello my name is Tabitha Carson. I'm a mother of four beautiful children and a grandmother of four. I currently live in the Washington Heights neighborhood in the 1st Congressional District. I'm a candidate running against the incumbent Bobby L. Rush who has served District 1 since 1993. The community has been longing for a change for years. I, Tabitha Carson am running a strong campaign which entails various plans on getting the 1st Congressional District back on track economically which certain communities have been left behind. Equality is my goal and my mission. I have worked hand and hand with Anthony J. Peraica as well as Chairwoman for William ‘Doc' Walls. I currently work with two group homes giving children second chances in life to become law abiding citizens. My Platform: Currently writing a bill to hold banks accountable for foreclosed homes left abandoned in our neighborhoods accessible for criminal activity. Provided better prescription coverage for our senior citizens, handicapped and disabled. Reform police procedures during 911 calls all the way to arrest and lock up to ensure no police brutality. Provide effective job training. The list goes on and on in our community but it takes a village to achieve our goal.
