Looks to me that Menendez will not be convicted, this year or next https://www.cbsnews.com/news/one-juror-excused-from-jury-deliberations-in-sen-bob-menendez-trial/, and the taint of trial will fade and not impede his march to re-election in 2018.

The jury will find a way to acquit him, again, which is totally not fishy.

I don't know - it seems to be Republicans supporting candidates that are felons these days, not Democrats.

I don't know - it seems to be the only party that voted against censuring a convict from the U.S. House of Representatives were the Democrats, not Republicans.
To whom are you referring?

We're calling people with a misdemeanor who only got probation and no jail time convicts now? Are we going to start censuring people for parking tickets?

I do not what my intent was except telling the truth. I did not say Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib because they did not convicted of felons.

Dems need to wakeup and realize that Bowman got special treatment. If he was a normal citizen, he would be in jail now.
And that doesn't even mention the fact that by being so selfish in pulling a file alarm for invalid reasons - he denied people hurt of needed services by wasting resources on what what was essentially political act.
Anyone defending Bowman probably should spend a minute volunteering in their community's fire or rescue services. They might realize why pulling a file alarm without a fire is a felony in most states.

Obvious strengths of Fixer's Jamaal Bowman argument aside I do think today's Menendez voter probably does lean Democrat but not to the extent that simply replacing the margin of victory in the average NJ Senate election with Menendez votes portends obvious GOP victory.

Dems need to wakeup and realize that Bowman got special treatment. If he was a normal citizen, he would be in jail now.
That's a pretty serious allegation. Do you have any data whatsoever to back that up? That a first time offender who pleads guilty to falsely pulling a fire alarm usually gets jail time? I don't have the data, but I'm pretty sure I know our legal system well enough to think that is not the case. Purely anecdotal, but I know people who got probation for doing so.
I'm not a fan of Bowman, I thought his excuses for doing it were BS (and said it here at the time) as his guilty verdict showed. That kind of stunt is also potentially more dangerous than most people realize and if he does it again he absolutely should get jail time. But the special treatment accusation is thrown around too much and often unwarranted.

If I went to Congres as a vistor, and did what Bowman did, would I be jailed? Almost certainly (although I'd probably be out by now).
