Seems like the general consensus for a Biden embarrassment factor will be a > 5% uncommitted vote. Its more than the 2-3% expected Arab primary vote and will show there are noticeable number of active Democrats opposed to Biden's renomination.
If the poll is right and 8.8% vote uncommitted - there will be more Nate Silvers and Ezra Kleins calling on Biden to step aside and the likelihood of an open convention increases. Also feels like the closer the vote is to 10%, the more difficult it will be for "uncommitted" not to be the story line out of tomorrow's primary vote.

Feels like this race has been trending away from Biden. PA NV and maybe even MI are probably all shifting to Trump/Republican nominee. The drop down for Trump v Biden with independent candidates seems pretty accurate as to where the race is imo.
Despite many Democrats exuberance over the mid-term elections, there were tremendous warning signs. I think its highly possible the Republicans will sweep the White House, the Senate, and the House next year.

Two issues that are most important Muslims stand for are issues where Biden failed:
1) Sexual content taught in school. Muslims oppose and Biden supports.
2) Support for Israel. Muslim oppose and Biden supports.
There is a real paradox with Democrats/Leftists and Arab / Muslims - Americans. The only reason why they are informally aligned is because Arabs / Muslim - Americans are a political minority and Dems at least seemingly embrace all political minorities.
On family political issues, as you pointed out in #1 - they are closer to Republicans. Conversely some things that Democrats / Leftists are advocating for are a no go for Arabs and Muslims - as evidenced in both Canada and America in the last year.
I'm very curious to see if this Gaza - Israel war is the tipping point for a majority of Arab / Muslim voters to go Republican. I'll be watching NJ and MI returns.
I know someone is undoubtedly whispering in Trump's ear about this. Watch the campaign rhetoric next year, not this year. If Michigan surprises, there is no 2nd Biden term.

Attempts to normalize this only hurts women.
If the Democrats keep her on the ballot it's only going to hurt the party across Virginia and they will regret it. It could well cost them other seats.

This seat is 100% lost for the Democrats all because they did a poor job vetting the candidate. And the candidate was naive enough to think it wouldn't matter.

Sad what's happened. Couldn't have been easy on the families. All the waiting and the unknown.
I'm pretty sure the liability insurance on these ventures just skyrocketed and would expect a halt to these type of tours for the immediate future.

RP: It's amazing how this all just retreads the anti-gay arguments from a few decades ago that most people have gotten over.
Actually I think this is quite different then "gay panic" if that's what you are implying. Guys don't care where they go. Most of the contention on this issue is coming from women, girls, and children.
And society seriously oversexualizes gays and trans people. The vast majority just want to pee, not perv on people in the bathroom.
I don't think it's fear of pervs thats generating concern or anything to do with sex. Most young women are extremely sensitive about their bodies and this is an issue about respecting them in a very private space.
While most of the debate has been respectful here, I just feel calling people dense or dumb for their beliefs is overly aggressive and non-productive. And what started this whole thing for me - the use of the word genocide - seems like political hyperbole to advance an agenda. I'll stand by that it is an extreme misuse of the term.

Sure. Agreed. We won't be able to make the people who think its icky happy.
Still doesn't negate there are young women, children, and adult women who aren't comfortable with sharing a very private space with transgenders who do not have the same biological anatomy.

Differences of opinion are a way of life. I get you are passionate about this issue and I've always respected your passion.
Still, I don't think you and I will come to any agreement by posting more and more comments as it relates to the topic of a transgender genocide. Its also not helpful to make this disagreement personal. So we will need to agree to disagree on this issue.
The contention and insults that often come from both sides on the issue leads me to believe we are very far from ever reaching common ground and working out disagreements.

The so called fascists are using the systems we set up for democracy to flow and its been working for over 200 years. It works for Democrats in the Majority (in places like Oregon) and works for Republicans in the Majority (in places like Nebraska) and is issue agnostic. There are effective forms of protest outside of legislative chambers to target the so called fascists.
Legislative Chambers are like the King Solomon's Temple of our democracy. Without some level of order, its anarchy and no longer a democracy. Just because you aren't getting your way, doesn't mean you get to defile the temple.

The chamber is for debate - even if it gets heated. Not for protests.

Bowman is grandstanding.
The problem with Democrats like Bowman is that the only solution he believes there is to protect innocent people in active shooter incidents is to ban guns.
This is a simplistic if-then solution and won't address the problem at all. It doesn't address why people want to harm and kill others. It would also punish law abiding citizens, responsible gun owners, and people who have a right to protect themselves from criminals.
The problem isn't guns...its the growing population of unstable people seeking to kill and do harm to others. But that's a much more complex problem to solve and will require a solution that doesn't fit the black / white political narratives that dominate American politics.

Makes sense given the internal antisemitism report that caused Corbyn to be suspended from the caucus back in 2020. If Starmer let Corbyn run as a Labour candidate it would have caused more problems.
