If the candidate uses it as a proper name, just add it in the first name field.
Example: Ben Ray Luján
FirstName: Ben Ray
LastName: Lujan

If you looking to record a candidates full name, many people spell out the full name in the info box and leave the candidates more common name in the first and last name fields.
Example: Mitt Romney
FirstName: Mitt
LastName: Romney
Info Box: Willard Mitt Romney

You can also add the initial in the first name field if you have it as it helps to cut down duplicate candidates.
Example: James E. Risch
FirstName: James E.
LastName: Risch

IndyGeorgia: Interestingly, these regional results show that abstentionism hurts Le Pen (contrary to the establishment fears in 2017).

That could be similar to the Trump phenomenon. Nobody expected big turnout to help Trump.

Hey, Kentucky results going back to 1955 are now on their site (they've had results since 1973 for a long time)..

But more results, awesome!

IndyGeorgia: I want them to announce each round at Madison Square Garden. "And now, the second round of your New York City mayoral Democratic primaryyyyyyyyyyy!"

I've always been pro-British style election announcements: the prime minister of the UK has to share the stage with guys in strange hats. It is delightful.

Important to note that Sweden has fixed elections, so the September 2022 election will be held regardless of whether an extra election is held in fall 2021 or spring 2022.

I agree, not really a moderate, but moderate by Iran standards.

Looks to me that list of candidates was curated to insure a win by Raisi and eliminate any true reform candidates.

IndyGeorgia: Pennsylvanian, a quick question about Mount Oliver. Anything significant/unique about this area? Do you know why they are an enclave and not part of the city?

Thanks for the information.

Just a borough that never permitted itself to be annexed by the city, as many of the surrounding former boroughs -- now neighborhoods, or the markedly less romantic-sounding "wards" -- once did. An interesting and light-hearted, brief read on it on page 2 of [Link] might be of interest.

The results link - [Link] - has an interactive precinct results map. Unsurprising that Moreno, rather than Gainey, took wards in the south of the city. They are more suburban, and more conservative (though perhaps not so much in a cosmic sense), than the areas closer to the Triangle -- and are the areas in which Jack Wagner tended to have his strongest showing back in the 2013 primary. Moreno, a retired Pittsburgh Police officer, was more or less the candidate of the blue collar white bloc there.

The dramatic and unique topography of the city plays an interesting role in its politics. Something to note is that the outlying areas in the south are somewhat physically separated from the center of the city by a river and steep cliffs rising therefrom -- and it is easy to forget, given the difference in elevation, that one is still within city limits there.

IndyGeorgia: Also, add a "1" in each of the precinct boxes so it doesn't show that 0% of the vote is in.

Ideally, only do this if you don't know how many precincts there are in the district. That is the case with this data source. If you do know, put the number of precincts here.

Cool. Looks like you got the map locations in, but you have to do one more step for them to show.

It looks like you created an overall map for them, but you didn't attach the map locations to it.

To do this, go to the MapLocation, click "Attach Existing Map". Your map might show up at the top since it is your most recent one. If not, you will have to search for it. Click "Attach". Then repeat for all of them.

Once they are attached, you can click 'Save - Regenerate Map" on the map page and it will create the combined map file and it should start appearing.

Couple small notes - Putting the dates in the Map name is discouraged since it should automatically put them in from the Active and Inactive dates. Please add the link to the source you got the map from in the Source field for the Map. My preferred format for the name would be "CO Douglas County Commissioner Districts".

Thanks.

I actually think Chase is correct. It really hurts the credibility of the Virginia GOP to change their primary/caucus system every cycle, because it makes them look like they are singling out individuals (see: Denver Riggleman). They should pick a consistent system and then let the chips fall where they may. (This is not to suggest that Amanda Chase is anything other than a crazy loon and I'm glad she is less likely to be the nominee because of the convention.)

I am looking forward to see how RCV works in NYC. Pretty remarkable that the largest city in America is committing to this experiment. There are several smaller cities in Colorado that are moving towards this.

My biggest fear about RCV in NYC is that it will take forever to get results and could tarnish peoples opinion about RCV as a democracy device.

For a race like this I can't even begin to imagine how it will play out. Election nerds like me love this stuff, but I'm not sure the average voter will like this or know how to use RCV. The winner of this race will be a total surprise if the primary goes ahead with this many serious candidates.
