Race here totally overshadowed by the shooting of two McKeesport police officers. One died. Coverage has been mostly on that locally with bare few mentions of this contest.

Yeah. He did not look particularly good at the Draft when he announced that Pickett was the Steelers' number one pick, but it's brutally cruel irony that he is going to miss the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception and the retirement of his jersey by less than a handful of days.

BrentinCO: If you are only polling 33% in a Republican Poll and you are the Republican - its pretty bad. Toomey trailed last term around, but still polled low to mid 40s. Oz has broken 40 in his own poll.
How long before we hear about campaign shakeup or the campaign manager resigning.
The guy who is running his campaign is the same guy that ran Cory Gardner's campaign - which was a decent campaign but very different dynamics. Toomey did trail at points, but not in every poll and certainly never by more than 5 either time.

While he was extremely right wing (even in the context of the LDP) and some of his policies were horrific, political violence is wrong in all its forms, especially assassinating a politician just because you disagree with them.
It reminds me of when I saw some youtube footage of the assassination of Inejiro Asanuma, there were several Japanese (and otherwise) commenters saying how good it was that Asanuma was killed because he was a socialist and how heroic the assassin was. That is a deeply disturbing attitude and one which is quite frankly terrible. No one deserves to die like this. Not Abe, not anyone.

RBH: two candidates from Western PA and two candidates from Eastern PA
either we're getting an interesting map with Fetterman/Lamb 1-2, or Kenyatta is gonna do better than expected (both are possible at the same time)
I think it's entirely possible for Lamb to falter here. His campaign has been really quite bad despite all the supposed big endorsements he's gotten. Most people I've talked to over the course of the campaign simply don't like the guy. Kenyatta could well outperform him. However, since Philadelphia is getting a clear run at the governor's office, the state party has a vested interest in making sure the Senate candidate comes from here.
