To repond to your Q, Bost was a staunch McCarthy supporter during the speaker turmoil, and even though Bost was endorsed by Trump, Bailey ran a well funded campaign hammering down the argument that Bost is "not MAGA enough" and that he didnt deserve the endorsement of DJT. If Trump had endorsed Bailey, this would certainly have gone the other way and IMO by at least 10 poiints.

@brentinCO no this was only held in the summer because of the census numbers in 2020 being screwed up so the election was delayed from November 2021 until now. Bokhari won in large part because he received the endorsement of the Charlotte observer who endorsed him because they wanted more party diversity on council, even though they wrote a column on how disruptive and dividing Bokhari is. The election will be held in November of next year, and I expect an 2-5 point win for Hand when turnout is higher.
