I think it is because Roberts did not like the consequence of when he struck down the pre-clearance requirement. Roberts is really worried about how the public sees the court since all of the courts power comes from peoples trust in the institution. Since judicial review is not directly stated in the text of the US constitution

Waste of a good argument over semantics, what Pelosi said was incorrect in a legal sense, but correct in a political one. Kind of like the hate the 5th amendment right to remain silent gets in politics, even though it is a constitutional right we have.

At the state convention, there will be a fight over the rules. Not much difference between the rules proposals, literally two different ways of doing hand counts. a group called unity for MRP is challenging the state party rules. 2/3 is required to amend the rules from the floor of the convention. It could just be a quick fast gavel, but only time will tell.

turnout was so bad in this race, I think dems need to blame local and state party for this one, I mean 130kish for an entire congressional district in CA shows a really bad turnout operation

Proposal 3 and MI-AG, both have very much tightened up. Plus MI has the only state legislative chamber where both the House and Senate are seriously in play and any party can win. Dems are hoping to win the St. Senate for the first time in over 30 years

Expect results to be a little slower in Michigan for election day vote results, most precincts will be physically transporting results to the clerks to be uploaded, the cell phone system uploads are increasingly unpopular.
