Vermont wasn’t solid red until Bernie. That ignores the Ds elected up and down the ballot in the 70s and 80s in that state - Leahy, Dean, Salmon, Kunin. Hell, even the state senate and state house started flipping in 1984 when Bernie was a mayor, not a statewide officeholder.

And all of this is subjective. One guy says something nice about one independent in a different state, ofc it becomes a long argument about how Bernie is better. Jeez, give it a rest or make a YouTube video about it.

And were turned over once found without any claims of ownership, without ignoring requests and subpoenas for months, without a media campaign blaming everyone but those responsible, without attempts to move/hide them, without evidence of their regular review by persons who should no longer review them, and without some asinine explanation that a president can de-classify documents just by thinking it, but yes, they are classified.

Cute, but a quote from April obviously made about Putin. Ukraine’s made clear what they would want from any diplomatic efforts and Russia has illegally annexed Ukrainian territory. Unless progressives suddenly decided it’s okay for big, imperialist powers to impose their will on smaller ones, we’re going to have to admit it was a dumb letter and that only Ukraine gets to decide when it’s willing to talk to Russia. I mean, how is the U.S. Secretary of State supposed to negotiate on behalf of another country? We wouldn’t accept another state doing that for us.

Concerns about the wife of a justice being part of an effort to overturn and election, this "honor" system that allows justices to pick and choose when to recuse themselves from matters, and not knowing all the various conflicts of interests are totally fine to ignore.

You're right, both sides are equal threats to democracy now.

Southern_Moderate2: And yet she's served five more terms than any of us "geniuses"

Morons and the easily influenced can be elected to office, it hardly absolves them from criticism. And who called themselves a genius? What are you snarky for?

My Congressman is a Weiner: You cited China’s numbers. Seems like you were willing to take their word.

Well, until we cite a press release where China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs admits they've been fuding the numbers they report to the WHO, we can't criticize Mr. Carter or anyone else E chooses to support.

Your argument fails in assuming that just because he has a D next to his name means he has to agree with you all the time. I wish he'd fall in line sooner, or have policy demands to be negotiated faster, but your whole all-or-nothing schtick all the time is tiring.

I don't care for recalls and if I lived a few blocks north or east I'd probably sit this one out and wait to see who challenged her next year. But I love when ideologues ignore the bad behavior of folk they support.

"She held a protest!" She misued taxpayer money, an act I'm sure some left-leaning ideologues would call corrupt if anyone else did it. She led protestors to the house of a former federal attorney whose address is protected under confidentiality laws. Those laws aren't to protect a mayor from public ridicule, that's fair, but because of her work as a prosecutor. Ya may not like cops and prosecutors, but those types laws protect actual people and their families. Opening city hall to protestors in contravention of COVID restrictions, well meh honestly, but if any other 3rd term, entrenched incumbent with all the advantages of being an established member of the city's political elite had used taxpayer funds against the "Tax Amazon" movement or led protestors who later left homophobic, racist, or sexist messages outside the homes of the politicians you support, left-leaning ideologues would be blowing their tops. But Sawant uses the right hashtags on twitter and thus can do no wrong.

From my limited view, her constituents seem to be pretty divided on her. Cap Hill may be a nice lil bastion of progressivism, but there are folk outside that bubble (but within her district) who are mixed on her. By and large, this'll be within 5 points and so will the '22 race.

I really think we just want to be mad at the government because ideology, but don't have a good reason.

I’m sure the supposedly ascendant left would rather lose the House so long as they won primaries in Massachusetts and Manhattan.

Jason: A consequence of the Democratic Party's obsession with suburbia at the expense of the working class.

Also, prior to 2010, the last Democrat to hold the seat held it for nearly 40 years and probably built up a considerable personal following. And people prioritizing social issues over economic ones. And people voting against their own interests for various reasons. And a host of other demographic and political changes over the last 30+ years.

Odd. On December 19, 2019, Price said he wouldn't run. The filing deadline was December 20. It does appear that Price did file to run, though the citations under his announcement date is just his campaign website which looks at first glance to be from 2018 (it at least still has endorsement blurbs from that election).

Instead of the unnecessary attitude, E, put your journalistic skills to work and just find a citation...

Biased because you don’t like the stated rules that don’t tilt in favor of what you want. The DNC stayed their rules; you don’t like them because what you see on super lefty sites isn’t what reality is. I’m not defending any system, or even a biased system. I’m just saying we all know where you stand and it’s pretty predictable. We get it. Bernie, Tulsi (for reasons I still don’t get), or bust. We got it.

There's a way to work within the system to change it. And he changed nothing, became a hero to the fringes, and ran to two countries that aren't exactly known for being open, transparent, or not having horrible governments.

Clearly the DNC, who communicated the rules way in advance, has been coordinating with specific polling firms, who I guess have something to gain from this conspiracy too, to keep Tulsi off the stage because reasons.

Don't Ben Shapiro me bro! (who tf is Ben Shapiro, I don't have Twitter because I have a job and a life)

Bernie Sanders, challengers to “the establishment,” and candidates who otherwise lack mass appeal or who can only win in Vermont or Manhattan.
