Brown Jackson strikes me as being the natural choice from Biden's perspective. Harvard College, Harvard Law, Harvard Law Review, clerked at three levels of the federal judiciary, including for Breyer himself, and federal bench experience at the trial and appellate levels as well. Would have liked to have seen a bit longer of a tenure at the appellate level, but I think she was quite transparently nominated to the D.C. Circuit to be groomed for SCOTUS, and an extended appellate record produces amply more opportunity for controversy in any case.

I'm getting "Run for reelection, resign, get the Governor to appoint Speaker Grassley" vibes.

I reckon this will have slightly more drama in the outcome than the Canadian election.

If you guys can, check out the indy movie "Grassroots" that centers on this election. It's certainly a fun look at how local politics works, especially with quirky candidates who end up becoming legitimate contenders.

Surviving a recall he was losing and coming out stronger - I nominate Gavin Newsom for outstanding politician of the year. He put together a winning strategy to get out his vote and get new votes.

Charlotte K-A: Somehow, I was still logged in on my phone, and used that to change my password. Either way, I'm back in! Thanks @E Pluribus Unum for playing Telephone :P
Same with me as well. Don't know what's happening but I'm glad to be back. Thanks E Pluribus Unum for the help today as well!

So what is the issue with doing it later? That someone won't go back through it? You'd have to go through to update the numbers, so why not just do it then?

The policy to withdrawal was Trumps, but the execution was disastrous and Biden owns it. Perhaps most shocking as Biden had more international tools and goodwill at his disposal.
