The fact that she got her job back after how she acted is just ridiculous. Nice to know you can be bat-crap insane and have literally no consequences in the end.

BrentinCO: At what point will we hear from Biden that he did his job defeating Trump, but its time for a new generation to lead the party and country? Before the mid-terms or after?
If it happens (and I hope it does) it won't be until after the mid-terms.

1. 101,000 seems unbelievable for such a large country. 2. Totalitarian regimes (of any sort) tend not to release information that makes them look bad.

More like Joe Manchin making a strong late-year push.
It's not Manchin's job to pass Biden's legislative agenda.
You can be angry at Manchin, but it will still be Biden's failure.

wonder how long they had to discuss the word bubble to produce the phrase "don't investigate many crimes" because that is amazingly bland if you're making up a quote to blast an opponent

Maybe I'm just numb because of dirtier tricks, but it's not nearly as bad as I expected. Perry's likely going to win, but you wanna call you're opponent socialist, you're going to use the mmost voal proponents of the policies you dislike.

Politics (and specifically, this current populist era) is all about "the customer is always right". Politicians won't say no to a constituent, so that's when we get into a "I understand your concern" and "people have a right to feel" dialogue.

If you guys can, check out the indy movie "Grassroots" that centers on this election. It's certainly a fun look at how local politics works, especially with quirky candidates who end up becoming legitimate contenders.

Fetterman is the tough guy that Republican voters think that they are voting for when they send dweebs like Tucker Carlson to Congress. If ever a Democrat could get bipartisan support in this decade it would be someone like him.

I am looking forward to see how RCV works in NYC. Pretty remarkable that the largest city in America is committing to this experiment. There are several smaller cities in Colorado that are moving towards this.
My biggest fear about RCV in NYC is that it will take forever to get results and could tarnish peoples opinion about RCV as a democracy device.
For a race like this I can't even begin to imagine how it will play out. Election nerds like me love this stuff, but I'm not sure the average voter will like this or know how to use RCV. The winner of this race will be a total surprise if the primary goes ahead with this many serious candidates.

WSNJ: I think the worst of the Cuomo allegations is the one where he called a staffer up to his office. The most recent one is weird behavior to say the least.
Between the #metoo stuff and the falsifying of Covid Deaths, it would be great injustice for Cuomo to survive this with the protection of NY State Democrats. The only way I can see him surviving this would be for Democrats to be hypocrites and protect Cuomo after they have savagely trashed Republicans for the same in a State where they have a partisan advantage hoping he somehow squeeks by with a bare majority of the vote.
I'm banking that Democrats are waiting for the report from the AG to provide cover before bringing him down. Its clear that Cuomo is out of touch with reality - his press conference provided striking evidence of that disconnect. Is there anyone here on this website that would touch or proposition a co-worker in their office like Cuomo did? And he doesn't think its wrong - he's just sorry others feel they way they do. Half-assed apologies for offensive and wrong behavior.
How embarrassing and awkward would it be for justice Democrats like AOC and others to run on the same line as Cuomo in 2022.

Rufus: These past few years have been useful to see who amongst one's Christian acquaintances (and family, if applicable) are sincerely religious vs. those for whom it's effectively used as a social club. While depressing to see most fall into the latter, even as an nonbeliever I have to respect the former.
I too am impressed by Christians who walk the walk on their faith since hypocrisy is alot easier than Christianity. I think this quote from Stephen Colbert sums up the difficulty of following Jesus nicely:
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we've got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition; and then admit that we just don't want to do it."
