Irish journalist Gavan Reilly has an absolutely amazing spreadsheet breaking down the results: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YiEnNrYEFWirEiW7mmgxxnpM-MVxGrxqfkIjPx71I_Y/htmlview?pru=AAABerBCppE*PY6U7aV-jKm3Sy4kPJ5IIA#
And in map form by data scientist Ian Richardson: https://ianrichardson.shinyapps.io/DBS_ByElection/
Looking like a Labour gain.

is this anything more than punishing the parties in power?
If Sinn Fein is the official opposition, its probably disappointing they didn't pick up this seat too. After the last election they seemed to be mainstreaming and were the hot trendy party at least with the media.

Big issue in this by-election was housing, and the voters are punishing the government parties on this issue.
