Roy's entry is intriguing. Would Republicans really go an all white male leadership team? Even Republicans realize that a little diversity is good. That's why they tolerated Cheney for as long as they did and Stefenik got the thumbs as the replacement.
Its intriguing because a lot of Republicans could care less about diversity in leadership and Roy being from Texas has a legit shot at winning.

What’s fascinating about this is that Cheney was pushed out for telling about the election, yet Chip Roy very vocally opposed the electoral vote objections and seriously contemplated voting for impeachment. The irony of Roy winning after all that effort Gaetz/Jordan and the whole trumpist wing put in ousting Cheney would be poetic justice. With that being said, Roy is a hardcore conservative and by no means a moderate. Elise Stefanik, while willing to push falsehoods about the election, is a moderate who supports the Equality Act, Puerto Rico Statehood, and climate legislation. She’s also been highly effective at recruiting successful women and minority republicans to run for the house (and win). Do they choose a hardcore conservative white male who acknowledges trump lost or do they go with the young woman lawmaker with pragmatic policy beliefs but caves to trumpism on election lies?

Buck really doesn't like Stefanik. For those wondering, Buck confirmed that Conference Chair is NOT Most Likely to Join the Squad for others in the Room voting.
