Idk how one would become a delegate in Utah, but as far as I can see it is much more closed door in New Jersey for both state parties.
We have precinct caucus meetings to elect our delegates. It is fairly easy-if someone nominates you, you're probably going to get elected. Especially for the democrats (I have family members who are Independents or even moderate Republicans who were elected delegates to the Democrat convention.) What is the New Jersey process like?
For republicans, there are 42 seats, 21 men and 21 women. They are elected by county in the primary every four years. Democrats have a similar process, but their seats are based off county population.
