Presidemt Trump held a tele-rally on Wright's behalf. Hope it brings out Republicans out to the polls!

Proud of my prediction! I need to take a look at the precinct/county by county map right now, but I think Ellzey having a coalition was everything here.

DDHQ have called it. I resisted changing because I thought it would come down to loyal diehard Republicans motivated to vote.

Nice call CaliforniaModerate!

Last time I celebrated a Trump-endorsed candidate losing, we got Madison Cawthorne. I will be muted in my enthusiasm for this, but I'm quite pleased that there is some independence of thought.

Anyone think that the Democrats fleeing the state had impact on this race?

Trump's endorsement probably motivated Democrats to put Ellzey over the top. Unipartisan run-offs can have strange dynamics.

Know this election was a while ago now, but interested to know what people think the outcome would’ve been had Sanchez advanced to the runoff instead of Ellzey?

I think a comfortable win by Wright. D vs R would have elevated the status of this race and Wright could have relied on the natural Republican advantage. R vs R muted this race and allowed Democrats supporting Ellzey to have an outsized impact.
