You already have the access to be able to do so.

I'm a little confused as to why Tish would jump in here. I know that it was seen as a foregone conclusion when Cuomo was governor, but it's a completely different dynamic now. Hochul is much more ideologically aligned with James and Williams, and has already governed that way. James keeping her powder dry for a possible Senate run or future AG role makes more sense.

That DataProgress poll was a little better for Tish than I expected it to be, but the big takeaway is that it's a "don't bother" number for deBlasio. I'm not really sure once Cuomo was out of the way there was a huge outcry for a choice in the primary, but it looks like most people are fine with "James or Hochul"

A little known secret of politicians is that a lot of them have very poor political instincts.

Has anyone asked Ms. James what the point of all the was?

A Politico article came out yesterday basically saying James wasn't even running a campaign

And CNN reported 15 minutes ago that James wants to depose Trump as part of a civil fraud investigation.

It just never made sense. She made up her mind to run when she was a legitimate alternative - both ideologically and, uh... morally? - to Cuomo. There were things you could say "she would do _____ and he wouldn't."

That doesn't exist with her and Hochul.

A little surprised, but glad, de Blasio dropped out.
