Description |
In 2019 Bob Smith was in the hot seat when he kicked progressive activist Sue Altman out of a hearing where democratic boss George Norcross was testifying over controversial tax breaks. He immediately drew the ire of Altman's Working Families Party. Since then progressives have left Smith alone.
Republicans have recruited James Abate a Piscataway attorney to take on Smith, after former Somerset County Freeholder Brian Levine opted to run for Governor. Republicans haven't one a single election in this district since it was created in 1973 and they are doomed for another defeat.
