Description |
Known for his temper, incumbent Michael Doherty is seeking his 4th full term in the state senate.
Doherty isn't afraid of controversy. He targeted the Black Lives Matter organization on a September 11th memorial speech with Governor Phil Murphy in attendance. He also unapologetically defended former President Donald Trump over the January 6th capitol hill riot.
Democrats recruited Denise King, who is making her 3rd bid for public office. Doherty is favorite for re-election in this staunchly republican district.
