After a surprisingly strong performance in 2019 republicans fielded two fairly week candidates to take on incumbents John Burzichelli and Adam Taliaferro.
The 3rd district is, on paper, politically competitive, but republicans have failed to make it competitive for many cycles now.
Burzichelli and Taliaferro are in a good position for November.
