Kyle: And by keeping Cheney, the house republican leadership retains their only leader with balls.

Despite being the only Republican in the leadership who physically lacks balls.

Would she have survived if it wasn't a secret ballot?

RP: Would she have survived if it wasn't a secret ballot?

No. Who would have wanted to publicly supported her in this climate in the Republican Party

Agreed, and it'd end up being a nightmare for Republicans, juxtaposed against the Marjorie Taylor Greene vote -- near-unanimous support of a demagogic conspiracy theorist versus condemnation of an individual who I view as having the courage to speak out against the direction of the party, from a position of leadership in the unruly high school cafeteria that is the House GOP conference no less. McCarthy understood that but, hell, even a broken clock's right twice a day.
