President Hashim Thaçi by presidential decree hands the mandate to form a new government to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) on April 23, 2020.
President Thaçi proposes to Parliament on April 30, 2020 the LDK’s Avdullah Hoti as Prime Minister.
On May 1, 2020, Kosovo’s Constitutional Court suspends President Thaçi's decree. The Court will decide on May 29, 2020 whether this decree is in line with the Constitution (Parliament was set to vote on Hoti's nomination on May 2, 2020).

The National Assembly is expected to vote into office Prime Minister Designate Avdullah Hoti as early as June 1, 2020.
