Agree. I don't think Adams or Yang voters will be voting for each other as Number 2. Think you are right that Garcia and Wiley probably are the second choices for a lot of the candidates.

I've warmed up to Adams. He's quite likeable the more you learn about his background.
One thing I've found quite interesting about his background is how he reversed his high blood pressure and diabetes. He's a big advocate for lifestyle changes over medication. It offers an interesting insight into his approach to problem solving.

I think this could reflect positively on how he can manage a city and inspire people.

I have no clue, Yang Gangers are mad that progressives hate him and vowed to not vote for any of the Progressive candidates.
They hate Adams cuz he is winning right now.
I will say Garcia as "everybody's 2nd choice" will be it

From what I've been reading, Adams is doing a good job on his campaign, shoring up first choicers and becomeing a likeable reasonable second for most voters that will be using RCV.
The x factor for me is that RCV is so new in NYC I'm curious to see how people use it and if they use it. I suspect we will see substantial drop offs in each round of those choosing to cast a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc vote.

That outcome is definitley a possibility. If anything it affirms that Adams and Garcia are the second choices for most voters.
But its so hard to accurately poll RCV thats why many pollsters have stayed away from doing 2nd round polling...especially first time use of RCV.
Who are these people still voting for Stringer? I thought we'd see more of a drop off for him. The loyalty of his vote through the sexual harassment allegations is impressive.

Would love RCV voting in Georgia. Having primaries, primary runoffs, generals, and general runoffs is inefficient.
Although if we're relying on NYC Board of Elections to show how RCV can work efficiently...

I want them to announce each round at Madison Square Garden. "And now, the second round of your New York City mayoral Democratic primaryyyyyyyyyyy!"
I've always been pro-British style election announcements: the prime minister of the UK has to share the stage with guys in strange hats. It is delightful.

I doubt ranked-choice voting is going to overcome a nearly ten-point lead for Eric Adams here, but I guess we'll find out some time next month.
Which seems odd.

Yang and the Orthodox Jewish? I suppose that would be the few Orthodox Jewish Democrats.

If I'm reading the website results right, it looks like most of Wiley's vote went for Garcia. And with 124k outstanding, the 16k lead for Adams is anything but secure.

This is it:
Eric Adams - 368,898 (51.1%)
Kathryn Garcia - 352,990 (48.9%)
https://web.enrboenyc.us/rcv/024306_11.html
120,000+ absentees to count. Odds are favoring Garcia to take it.
