I am looking forward to see how RCV works in NYC. Pretty remarkable that the largest city in America is committing to this experiment. There are several smaller cities in Colorado that are moving towards this.
My biggest fear about RCV in NYC is that it will take forever to get results and could tarnish peoples opinion about RCV as a democracy device.
For a race like this I can't even begin to imagine how it will play out. Election nerds like me love this stuff, but I'm not sure the average voter will like this or know how to use RCV. The winner of this race will be a total surprise if the primary goes ahead with this many serious candidates.

I still have questions about RCV implementation in New Jersey. There is a small possibility it is adopted, but seeing it in action over the Hudson will be fun this year, and hopefully it will help me form a better opinion.

Think with the WFP vote now likely splitting there’s a chance of seeing Wiley break into the run off by a very slight margin over either of the top two candidates, Stringer’s campaign is most likely now mid-capitulation which will boost both Wiley & Morales big time

Withdrawing my endorsement for Yang in this primary and endorsing two candidates; Paperboy Prince and Dianne Morales.
Did Yang turn out to be too electable?

Welcome to the thibg that has been obvious since mid-2020 🤣.
I always forget this place actually has RCV and that Paperboy's candidacy is somewhat more serious than advertised.
A good ballot would be Dianne, Paperboy, Wiley

Yeh. Yang is getting beat up and he's not done a good job defending himself against being a carpetbagger or understanding NY issues.
Even simple questions like "What is your favorite subway station?" seem to be the wrong answer even if they are right.

I haven't quite understood if the Yang criticism is confined to very online New Yorkers who want to act as gatekeepers for who is an authentic New Yorker or if it is also among average New Yorkers (who to be fair, might also act as gatekeepers).

New Yorker here. “Favorite subway station” is a dumb question, but even considering that he failed it.

All these questions about his favorite subway stop, or his favorite Jay-Z song, come off as really provincial and lame.

Those questions are a bit lame, but that cultural knowledge can play a role in elections. Just ask Martha Coakley.

And give Hillary Clinton credit for understanding that local cultural knowledge was critical when she was running for and won the US Senate. She made sure she understood New York localisms and made sure she didn't mis-pronounce local place names. She wasn't perfect, but she made an effort. I feel like Yang should have taken advice from her run.
BTW Queens native Andrew Cuomo apparently stepped in it when he kept mis-pronouncing Rochdale Village a month ago.

I resonate with the “gatekeeping” idea, but it is stupid in practice. The best critique of Yang is that he is carpetbagging, but I’m not sure how true that is.

This jay z and subway situation for yang is self made. Yang has been acting like a celebrity his entire political career so of course he is going to get treated like one.

Jamaal Bowman is a freakin' idiot, for whatever difference that makes here.

Personally, I would keep any endorsements a candidate received, regardless of whether they were later withdrawn. I feel the same about people endorsing candidates as their second choice.

Agree. I don't think Adams or Yang voters will be voting for each other as Number 2. Think you are right that Garcia and Wiley probably are the second choices for a lot of the candidates.

Curious how everyone would RCV in this race. For me:
1. McGuire
2. Garcia
3. Adams
4. Yang
No other candidate ranked
