| Description |
27 seats (one-third) of the 81-seat Senate were contested. Elections for one-third of the Senate are held every two years.
A first round took place between October 5 and October 6, 2018 [Link] with a second round held on October 12 to October 13, 2018.
Figures below represent the immediate, post-election party composition of ALL 81 seats in the new Senate. They do not reflect the final composition of the Senate, which saw parties bundle themselves under the umbrella of one coalition or another. With that considered, the dominant bloc crafted later wound up being the "Mayors and Independents" coalition, which took 19 seats.
