I actually believe Pallotta will win. This could quickly change.

He certainly has a chance, but he needs a positive change in the race's dynamics and that simply hasn't come yet.

I don't think Pallotta will win. This district is trending away from the GOP. Murphy won this district during his Gubernatorial run.

I concur, as a republican, this is completely the leaderships fault. They should have dumped Scott Garrett in 2016 with a more moderate and younger republican like Holly Schepisi, but alas we took the stupid route.

I've been seeing so many Pallotta signs crumpled up and thrown on the side of the road and a Josh Gottheimer sign placed right where they used to be.....

“I’ve been in Sussex and Warren counties more in three months than you have in the last three years “ - Frank Pallotta to Josh Gottheimer during a radio debate.
I try not to get hyper partisan on here and I also try to not idolize political quotes, but this has been one of my favorite local race quotes this year!

Pallotta performed stellar in last nights debate. The one exception being was his answer to Josh's question. Josh brought up a local Sussex County nut, by the name of Bill Hayden. He apparently is involved with a right-wing militia group. Pallotta is pictured with Hayden numerous times. Gottheimer asked him to condemn white supremacy and Bill Hayden. Pallotta said he will defend the hard working men and women of the 5th district. Really bad answer. He should have said, "I don't know Mr.Hayden that well, I have met him at multiple events and was told he was a huge supporter of mine, I have posed for numerous pictures with him because I was humbled by his support. If what your saying is true then of course I will condemn white supremacy, but if this isn't true you owe the hard working men and women of this district and apology."

https://newjerseyglobe.com/congress/new-gottheimer-ad-hits-pallotta-over-oath-keepers/
This is the biggest lie I've ever seen come out of Gottheimer mouth. There is literally no evidence to suggest Mr.Hayden is a member of the Oathkeepers. And still the New Jersey Globe runs with it. I'm no fan of Mr.Hayden I think he hurts republicans running for office here in New Jersey, but this is just a straight up lie.

There is literally no evidence to suggest Mr.Hayden is a member of the Oathkeepers.
There is some, including his presence at events held by the group. But of course, only he or the group could confirm his membership.
Pallotta could have said that he wasn't a member, but chose instead to defend the Oath Keepers. His defense of the Oath Keepers can stand alone as an issue without bringing Hayden into it.
AND shouldn't the author of the article be seeking comment from Bill Hayden, who has far as the law is concerned is a private citizen....
It's common for politicians to be attacked based on people they associate with - even ones not directly hired by them. Jeremiah Wright anyone?

it somehow took me a few days (and an update to iOS 14.1) to find that I had a voicemail that was from the Pallotta campaign.
Not sure how they would have gotten the number, seeing as I have never been close to New Jersey. Also would be a less than ideal use of their resources to send their robocall voicemail pitch to me.

I volunteered for his campaign over the last few days. It was the first time I had volunteered for a campaign in a few years. But I noticed their voter call rolls where incredibly outdated....

Like, if they're calling people far away from NJ, somebody is using a phone list that may have been bought from a telemarketing firm.
The campaigns i've been around don't leave voicemails because it's probably time-inefficient with how many people don't pick up their phones for strangers (which is also a problem for pollsters).
