I'm just as curious as you are to see the results from this race. I don't know too much about this district, but if I had to make a prediction, I would say Cuellar probably holds on, but it might be close. TX-28 is a lot different than AOC and Pressley's districts, and although it is a safe blue district, I'm not sure if it's the most *progressive* district (Hillary did pretty well in a lot of these counties). But I've been wrong before.

Also fun fact while I'm on the subject: Cuellar was appointed by none other than Rick Perry as Secretary of State in 2001 after Bush's inauguration.

kinda interested to see if an increase in turnout for this race impacts upstream races (Presidential primary and US Senate)

Is there any polling on this contest ? If I have to guess: I think Cuellar holds on (55% to 43%).

To make this even more interesting, Cisneros used to be an intern for Cuellar. [Link]

Just as I expected: Cuellar has won.

Some people might blame open primaries for Cuellar and Dan Lipinski having success in primaries, but I suspect that if TX or IL had closed primaries, the most loyal Cuellar/Lipinski voters would be registered Democrats.

In other words, Henry Cuellar is reasonably good at politics.

This was a very close margin. I'm sure we will hear from Cisneros again.

I agree with you that Cuellar is very good at politicking.

Note that Cuellar and Lipinski knew better to be pains in the butt about stuff like Impeachment.
