Description

Government Formation:

JxC candidate Carles Puigdemont proposed as nominee; having left the country and facing arrest, Puigdemont stepped aside for Jordi Sànchez to become President.

Sànchez, who had been detained, was barred from being released to become President by Spanish Supreme Court. He later dropped his bid on 21 March in favor of Jordi Turull.
