BBC Constituency Profile:
Situated on the coast of north east Lincolnshire is the seat of Cleethorpes. The constituency stretches north from Cleethorpes towards the Humber Bridge, covering the port and oil refinery at Immingham and the market town of Barton upon Humber. The gas industries, chemical factories and refineries on the Humber bank provide much of the employment.
Cleethorpes itself is still popular with day-trippers who come to visit its pier, undergoing refurbishment, and Pleasure Island theme park. One in 20 of the population is an apprentice; one in five work in education, human health and social work, according to ONS 2011 Census figures for England and Wales. Retail, manufacturing, food processing, transport and storage are also important sectors. Over a quarter - 27% - of the population have no qualifications.
In 2010, Conservative Martin Vickers took the seat from Labour with 42.1% of the votes; Labour got 32.6%, Liberal Democrats 18.2% and UKIP 7.1%.
