| Description |
Eleanor Rasmussen, the wife of 28th district Senator Slim Rasmussen, sought election to the Senate in protest of a redistricting plan which eliminated her husband's district. Slim Rasmussen left the Senate the following year upon being elected mayor of Tacoma, and returned upon the death of Senator McCutcheon.
