Description |
Reid was nominated to succeed her husband on the ballot. State Rep. Robert F. Casey, a candidate in the primary, was the choice of 70 of Kane County's 181 precinct committeeman granting him 11,292 votes. The caucus chairman ignored their request allowing him votes and awarded Reid all of Kane County's votes.
After the first round of voting Reid was nominated unanimous.
