Description |
Kvale disqualified as Republican nominee in July 1920 for violating the Corrupt Practices Act for supposedly referring to Volstead as an "Atheist who is opposed to the Bible". Volstead was awarded the nomination at that time, but was disqualified from it in September 1920. The Republican committee nominated Volstead later that month.
