This month we recognize Thomas Walker. He had been recognized in the first series and is the first user to be recognized a second time. The earlier time, he shared the recognition with Eddy 9_99.
Thomas first came to OC on 6/12/2003, exactly one year after the site appeared on the Internet. TW, who is User #334, lives in Arizona (though he was raised in Columbus, Ohio). His wife Becky is also active at OC, where she has made a remarkable showing in entering sub-races. They have been married for 12 years.
In real life, TW is a Democrat. Until very recently, he was associated with Arizona's Libertarian Party but registered as a Democrat in order to run as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention for Mike Gravel. At OC, TW is affilated with the Abolition Party. He has physically seen four US Presidents, probably more than any other OC'er.
TW's contributions here at OC need no introduction. He ranks #2 currently in the number of races created, with 21,656 races. Among the interesting types of races he has posted are the races for First Lady and Second Lady of the USA. He also completed the presidential primaries back to 1912, worked with Dave Jones to complete the first two congressional districts back to 1789, completed the U.S. House races in California back to statehood, entered the major party national conventions back to the beginning, and entered a huge amount of races for Governor. His late projects have included completing all U.S. Senate races back to 1

His late projects have included completing all U.S. Senate races back to 1789. His other contributions are also remarkable - over 28,000 sub races; nearly 18,000 candidate profiles; 62 books; and 1,488 news items.
Thomas was very active in the silly portions of OC. He ran for OC President three times, winning on his third attempt. His first attempt was in the first site election in 12/2003. He performed better in the second site election in 4/2004, when he won 40% of the vote. He served five different terms as the OC Secretary of Communications. TW has been active in most of the OC sports leagues, winning once.
In 4/2005, Thomas was elected the 5th OC President with 54% of the vote. His victory was the first time since the initial race that any candidate passed 50% of the vote. During his term, TW reduced access of inactive members, closed duplicate accounts, and standardized the way city containers are posted at OC. His presidency was marked by the gumballhead scandal, which led to his resignation before his term ended (one of only two OC Presidents who have been forced to resign).
Since he just turned 40, this seems to be the time to recognize the many contributions of Thomas Walker to OurCampaigns. Thank you and congratulations!!
