Description |
Special election convention to replace Democratic State Senator Garry Furnari, who is retiring his vulnerable seat to take his new position as Superior Court Judge. Assemblyman Paul Sarlo was the unanimous choice to replace Furnari. (The other Assembly seat in the swing district is held by Republican Minority Leader Paul DiGaetano.)
At 34, Sarlo is one of the youngest State Senators in the chamber.
